All handmade items are handwash/spot clean only! As with most handmade products, our clothing needs to be treated with extra love and care. Although they can handle the wear and tear of being worn by kids, washing should be kept to a minimum. Machine washing can cause damage to vintage, denim, patchwork, and handmade pieces. So please handwash or spot clean only and hang to dry!

We are passionate about creating clothing that is sustainable. Around 85% of clothing that is donated to thrift stores still ends up in landfills. This adds to the vast amount of textile waste that is harming our planet. By using carefully sourced textiles for our clothing, as well as using vintage fabric and closures when possible, we are able to give them a new life while staying true to the Ember & Bear principles.

Simple answer: privacy! Any child featured on our website and/or social media is either my own child or a customer's child. They are not paid models for our products, they are every day children who just love our clothing! It's our job as parents to protect our children and their privacy. We love to share pictures of customers loving their Ember & Bear products, but also want to respect their privacy.

Although creating clothing for kids is our specialty, we are open to custom orders for adults. We have matching "Mommy & Me" sets available, but if you're looking to custom order an adult product, we would love to hear your creative idea! Just send us a message through our "Contact" page!

If a product has been personalized, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund. The personalization is permanently adhered to the item and cannot be removed for resale. If the product has not been personalized, please reach out to us on the "Contact" page. Before purchasing, please double-check your child's size and size up for your child to grow into! For vintage clothing, sizes can differ. Measurements for specific garments can be provided, feel free to ask!
