Ember & Bear was born from a love of vintage, upcycling, and sewing. We hope to instill confidence in children by curating a vintage, handmade, or upcycled outfit specially for them. With our clothing, they can not only feel good about how they look, but also feel good about helping our planet!
Our Mission
Our mission at Ember & Bear is to inspire children (and their parents!) to embrace slow fashion by showing that kids' clothing can have a second life. Our upcycled denim jackets can be personalized just for your little one. We also create handmade garments from thrifted textiles, using vintage sewing patterns and closures. Our curated vintage collection is locally sourced to help preserve the craftsmanship of fashion history. Every year, an estimated 85% of donated clothing ultimately ends up in landfills. By sourcing the majority of our materials secondhand, we're helping give textiles a new purpose. Each piece is thoughtfully made with sustainability in mind, creating clothing that's as special as the child who wears it!
Meet the Creator
Hi there! I'm Autumn, mama to four year old Emberly and two year old Barrett, the little inspirations behind Ember & Bear. I'm a self-taught sewist with a passion for creating children's clothing while helping reduce textile waste in the kids fashion industry. I love all things vintage, antique, and thrifted! In between sewing projects, I'm a full time stay at home mom and part time respite care worker. After five years of experience with sewing upcycled clothing, I decided to fuel my passions into creating Ember & Bear.
